The Role

Are you excited about designing the technology foundation for modern workplaces? As a Senior Low Voltage Designer, this role plays a critical part in shaping how workplace technology is delivered across a growing portfolio of office renovations, modernizations and builds.

Supporting both new construction and small to large-scale upgrades, this role is responsible for developing and coordinating low voltage design supporting network infrastructure in technology spaces, wireless, audiovisual, security, voice, and building management technologies—ensuring solutions are scalable, consistent, and aligned to enterprise standards. The role also helps ensure designs stay aligned with evolving industry practices and are adaptable to future needs. This position strengthens internal expertise, improves quality, and reduces delivery risk as demand for workplace technology continues to grow.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

This role combines hands-on design expertise with strong coordination across internal teams and external partners to build a new internal capability, reduce reliance on vendors, strengthen standards compliance, and deliver consistent, scalable telecommunications designs across the project portfolio.

Key capabilities include:

  • Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification or equivalent required

  • 10+ years designing, planning and coordinated technology rooms, structured cabling, wireless, and other low voltage systems in support of large-scale office renovations and campus builds

  • Experience shaping both high-level design strategy and detailed implementation plans across a portfolio of projects

  • Ability to develop and review construction documentation, including diagrams, plans, schedules, and equipment layouts

  • Strong discipline in maintaining as-built documentation and tracking design changes throughout the project lifecycle

  • Proven ability to identify risks, solve problems, and keep projects on schedule and within budget

  • Experience evolving company standards, specifications, and materials lists to reflect current practices and future needs

  • Ability to collaborate with architects, engineers, project teams, and vendors to deliver coordinated, adaptable solutions

  • Experience evaluating technologies and design approaches for long-term flexibility

  • Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality, consistency, and documentation

  • Experience with financial services companies and global site builds a plus

  • Ability to travel within the U.S. as needed

The Team

The EI&O Workplace Technology team is responsible for delivering infrastructure and technology solutions that enable our offices to operate effectively and scale for the future. As real estate investments expand and more teams return to onsite work, the need for consistent, forward-looking telecommunications design continues to grow.

We partner closely with real estate, construction, engineering, and technology teams to deliver secure, reliable, future-ready infrastructure that supports an excellent associate experience in every location.

Fidelity manages more than 11 million square feet of space in the United States and overseas, including thirteen North American and six international locations, two data centers and more than 200 retail investor centers.

Fidelity’s Onsite Working Model
