Sanity is looking for a Senior Data Analyst to deliver high-impact analysis that empowers our Product and Engineering teams to make confident, data-driven decisions every day. In this role, you will dig deep into complex datasets, uncover trends, and translate findings into clear, actionable insights that directly influence product strategy and execution. You'll partner closely with product managers and engineers as a trusted analytical resource, while contributing to a culture of data excellence within our centralized Data & Analytics organization.
Partner with product managers and engineering leads to frame questions, define analytical requirements, and deliver insights that shape roadmap and investment decisions.
Build cohort, funnel, and user journey analyses that explain how customers adopt Sanity, where they get stuck, and what keeps them coming back.
Collaborate with Data Engineering and Analytics Engineering to ensure data quality, consistency, and documentation across datasets
Define and maintain Sanity's north star and product health metrics in collaboration with stakeholders, ensuring alignment on a single source of truth for how we measure activation, engagement, and retention.
Own the development and maintenance of dashboards and self-service analytics that give product teams clear, trusted visibility into product performance.
Communicate findings clearly and persuasively to cross-functional stakeholders and leadership, influencing strategic decisions with data-backed recommendations.
Manage a mix of ad-hoc and planned analytical work, balancing competing priorities while maintaining clear communication on timelines and progress.
Continuously push the quality of analytical workflows, data models, and reporting standards, contributing to a culture of rigor and excellence within the broader Data & Analytics organization.
Based in: San Francisco, the team comes into the SF office 2-3 times a week. This role runs ~4 hours ahead of standard Pacific time (think 5am starts) to overlap with our European partners. Please confirm that early schedule works for you before applying.
4+ years of experience in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, or a highly analytical role, with hands-on exposure to product usage data, behavioral analytics, or event-level data at a SaaS company.
Advanced proficiency in SQL, Python, and data modeling, with a proven ability to derive insights from complex datasets and translate them into compelling visualizations and dashboards.
Familiarity with semantic layer BI tools (e.g., Omni, Looker), modern data stack tooling (e.g., dbt, Google BigQuery), and event instrumentation platforms like CDPs (e.g., RudderStack, Segment).
Fluent in the core product analytics toolkit: cohort analysis, funnel and journey analysis, retention curves, and defining metrics like north star, activation, and engagement.
Demonstrated ability to work independently in ambiguous, fast-changing environments, driving analytical work end-to-end from problem framing through implementation and iteration.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to present complex findings to non-technical audiences and turn analysis into recommendations stakeholders can act on.
Proven ability to navigate competing stakeholder priorities and drive alignment across functions.

Salary Range: $180k - $240k annually. Final compensation within this range will be determined based on the candidate’s experience and skill set.
