Job Summary:
The Assistant Manager (ASM) will be responsible for ensuring the successful daily operations of a Tender Loving Empire retail location. This individual will set the tone and drive the store teams to success in direct partnership with the GM, fellow ASM team, and store teams. They understand the customer experience is the priority in the store space, helping delegate and task manage the team to being a customer-focused, sales driven, and profitable team that enables us to continue to support the artists, makers, musicians, and creatives we carry. ASM’s inspire and motivate their team in alignment with TLE’s core values and manage operations of day to day store business in a warm and wholehearted manner.
Primary Role Functions:
Lead the sales team to exemplary customer service and engagement
Ensure stores profitability is a frontmost priority at all times
Recruit, hire, and develop talent to drive a culture of excellence that exemplify the TLE brand
Seek opportunities for efficiencies where possible
Build and curate a caring, inclusive, and creative environment for all staff
Our Ideal Candidate:
1-3 years retail experience + 1-2 years comparable management experience
Motivated to help the company achieve its big picture goals by maintaining store standards
Takes initiative, is results driven, and has a competitive drive to achieve goals
Focused on results while also being adaptive to the store and company needs
Manages their team in fun and creative ways, motivating their team to be engaged and enthusiastic
Builds positive relationships with all TLE staff and vendors
Comfortable and eager to connect with customers about our brand and products and leads by example in modeling behaviors
Adaptable and quick to learn
Delegate tasks in a effective manner
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong typing skills and computer navigation
Understanding of Google Suite, Slack, and point of sale experience
Can stand for extended periods of time and can lift and carry up to 30 lbs
