The IT Security Technician plays a key role on theInformation Technology Security team in designing, implementing, and supportingsecurity strategies across various stakeholder systems. Reporting directly tothe Security Supervisor, this position maintains perimeter and cybersecurityinfrastructure, deploys new defense technologies, and mitigates threats. Therole performs a broad range of technical security duties, from daily monitoringand maintenance to active incident responses ensuring the protection of acomplex, multifaceted network.

Job Duties
  • Configures and maintains enterprise securityinfrastructures to deliver seamless network security services
  • Develops, configures, implements and maintains systemsecurity standards, policies, procedures, systems, Wide-Area Network (WAN),Local-Area Network (LAN) and Internet access systems to ensure confidentiality,integrity and availability of systems, networks, servers and data.
  • Identify weaknesses and vulnerabilities using securitylogs, network analysis, and observations; plans and implements solutions tomitigate or eliminate those risks.
  • Performs technical log reviews and investigations forsecurity products regularly.
  • Provides support and operational oversight
  • Assists in managing enterprise security event correlationand incident response program covering 3,000+ networked hosts, conducts loganalysis, researches event sources and determines and executes appropriate remediationor mitigation strategies.
  • Receives and responds to internal tickets to resolvenetwork and security issues.
  •  Assists in deploying complex security programs anddeveloping business intelligence and threat analytics reports to addresssystem-wide security issues.
  • Communicates network security vulnerabilities andsolutions to the Security Supervisor about application security, communications,and performance issues.
  • Assists with the administration of the IT system securityprograms through routine system auditing and scans, penetration testing, activesecurity monitoring and policy enforcement.
  • Assists with the administration of the system and networkvulnerability management program; scans network-connected assets for knownvulnerabilities; conducts industry and vendor research on identified vulnerabilities;works with technical staff and management to facilitate the remediation ofsecurity vulnerabilities.
  • Assists in the disaster recovery planning and executionof security-related services.
  • Provides 24/7 support for network and security-relatedissues and deployments
  • Responsible for after-hours support by carrying a mobilephone at all times responding to critical and non-critical security relatedissues
  • Promotes security awareness with the support of theSecurity Supervisor for security issues and ensures sound security principlesare reflected in the organization's vision.
  • Assists with the design, creation, test and deployment ofnetwork firewall rules on all firewalls



Requirements

  • MUST be a US Citizen or GC holder 

  • 3+ years of applicable experience in a similar capacity required
